Products - Masonry - How To Specify -

1. Suggested Method of Specifying Colinwell Masonry Blocks
N.B. Colinwell Masonry Blocks have been developed for external or internal use, they are integrally coloured and should preferably be built with a matching or contrasting coloured mortar.

Colinwell Masonry *.,
Ref.: (eg. C3); Colour: (eg. Heather); Size: (eg. 390 x 190 x 140mm); here state whether solid, cellular, or hollow; average compressive strength (7N per sq.mm, 10.5N per sq.mm, 15N per sq.mm, 21N per sq.mm), in cement and coloured pre-mixed mortar (eg. 1:1:6).   If coloured mortar is to be used here state Manufcaturer's code (eg. Colinwell Mortar: Maroon U43).

* Colinwell Architectural Masonry is available in the following finishes :-
(a) Standard Masonry Block,  (b) Split Fluted Masonry, (c) Split Masonry,  (d) Shot Blasted Masonry,
(e) Polished Masonry


2. Suggested Method of Specifying Colinwell Fair Face (Paint Grade) Blocks
N.B. Colinwell Fair Face Blocks have been developed primarily for internal use where they will be built (preferably with a pole joint) and painted.  They may be left unpainted if wished.

Fair-Face Blocks: Colinwell Concrete Ltd.,
Ref.: (eg. A3); Size: (eg. 440 x 215 x 215mm); here state configuration (eg. hollow); average compressive strength (7N per sq.mm, 10.5N per sq.mm); in cement, lime, mortar (eg. 1:1:6).
